Radiomaster Announces GX12: A Revolutionary Dual-Band ExpressLRS Radio Transmitter

Revolutionary Combination of Technology and Performance
Greetings, friends! RadioMaster has unveiled its revolutionary next-generation GX12 portable, high-tech radio transmitter, ushering in a new era of innovation in high-performance radio controllers. Designed for racing drones, FPV flights, and videography, the GX12 prioritizes signal strength and reliability, ensuring dependable connection when it matters most. For work or play, the GX12 embodies superior drone control through the latest open-source technology and performance advancements. Let's dive into the details!
Appearance and Controls
The transmitter measures 183×148×78 mm and weighs 573 grams. In addition to the standard control buttons, RadioMaster has equipped the transmitter with two removable end modules featuring customizable multi-position switches, buttons, and scrolls, allowing for quick replacement in case of damage. Six customizable RGB buttons are also included in the central area.
ExpressLRS Gemini Xrossband
The GX12's main feature is its integrated dual-band ExpressLRS module (ExpressLRS Gemini-XROSSBAND (GEM-X)), enabling simultaneous operation in the 2.4 GHz and 900 MHz frequency bands, or operation on a single band in Diversity mode. This provides improved stability over longer distances or in environments with high radio frequency interference. Previously, this functionality required an external module.
Transmitter, Antenna, and Nano-Port
The GX12 boasts two built-in 1W maximum power transmitters. It comes with two foldable antennas compatible with both radio bands, and two additional SMA connectors for connecting other antennas. A nano-port is also included for adding external modules. The system is controlled by EdgeTX operating system and features a built-in high-contrast 128×64 pixel monochrome OLED screen.
Other Features
The GX12 features aluminum 3D GX01 Gimbals built on 1000Hz digital Hall sensors with 12-bit signal processing and EdgeTX synchronization. For greater precision, each gimbal is mounted on four ball bearings. The sticks feature a folding mechanism for improved portability and to prevent premature wear.

A single USB-C port allows for intelligent balanced battery charging (powered by a 2S LiPo or 2 × Li-ion 18650), simulator connection, firmware updates, and direct access to the built-in flash memory.
Availability and Price
The Radiomaster GX12 is currently available for pre-order on the developer's website for $170 (excluding shipping and taxes). The first shipments are scheduled for the end of December 2024.
